The Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) announced the election of Patrick B. Mann, President of Patlon Aircraft & Industries, as Chair of the AIAC Board of Directors. Pat will be succeeding Cynthia Garneau, President of Bell Helicopter Textron Canada, who served as Chair of the AIAC Board previously.

“This year, through its Vision 2025 initiative, AIAC will be bringing together industry, government, educators and communities to chart a course for the future of our industry in Canada,” said Mr. Mann. “This is an important initiative and time for the association and for our industry, and I am honoured to have the opportunity to serve as AIAC’s Board Chair. I look forward to working with the Board and staff at AIAC to ensure that Canada’s aerospace industry remains a leader in the global marketplace.”

Jim Quick, President and CEO of AIAC, officially welcomed Mr. Mann to his new role at AIAC’s Annual General Meeting on November 13. “As a long-time board member, Pat’s leadership and expertise have been an important part of AIAC’s success for many years. His experience and dedication to Canadian aerospace and to AIAC makes him an excellent choice as Board Chair” Mr. Quick said. “On behalf of all of us at the AIAC, I offer our heartfelt congratulations to Pat on his election as Chair and look forward to working with him during the coming year.”

The Board also acknowledged the service and contributions of AIAC’s outgoing chair, Ms. Cynthia Garneau. “Ms. Garneau’s leadership and strategic vision have been invaluable to AIAC’s growth and achievements over the last year, as well as to the launch of Vision 2025 this fall.” Mr. Quick said. “I would like to personally thank Cynthia for her commitment to our association and industry and am very pleased that she will remain active on AIAC’s Board in the coming year.”
